Skills & Expertise
A brief overview of my work experience.
In a Nutshell
I’m a project management professional with eight years of experience guiding multi-county initiatives, coordinating cross-functional teams, and improving operational processes - primarily in nonprofit and community impact settings. My work has often sat at the intersection of people, process, and technology, with an emphasis on bringing clarity to complex systems and fostering collaboration across diverse groups.
In recent years, I’ve expanded beyond traditional project management into Agile practices and technical problem-solving. I earned my Professional Scrum Master certification, built out Python and data visualization skills, and even developed a full desktop application from scratch to deepen my hands-on understanding of how systems and software development works. This site is where I share what I’ve learned from those projects, the decision-making frameworks that guided me, and the processes that I used to make it happen.
Highlights of My Journey
- Resilience & Leadership: Guided a 5-member team through the transition to remote operations, sustaining 100% retention for over two years during a period of major disruption.
- Program & Portfolio Oversight: Directed 5-8 community impact projects annually, balancing scope, schedule, and stakeholder needs to deliver consistent results across a local seven county area and the state of Wisconsin.
- Knowledge & Documentation Systems: Authored and maintained 50+ technical and procedural documents, building a shared knowledge base that ensured alignment across local and statewide initiatives.
- Quality Control: Created comprehensive quality assurance procedures, from initial training, ongoing comprehensive documentation, to regular audits and feedback loops.
- Data & Reporting: Designed recurring and ad hoc Excel-based reporting systems to track grant deliverables, project milestones, and data quality metrics for leadership decision-making.
- Collaboration & Trust-Building: Strengthened transparency and engagement in a statewide database committee, aligning the work of seven local offices and multiple partner agencies.
- Resource Analysis and Advocacy: Analyzed expected workload versus available staffing and advocated for increased resources, resulting in staff cross-training and additional staff.
- Technical Growth: Built a PyQt6 desktop app integrating SQLite databases, APIs, and data visualization with Matplotlib/Seaborn - part of my ongoing development in applied technical skills.
